Research repository

Theses, dissertations and scholarly publications of the University of Hargeisa are held in the University's official research repository, maintained by the Research, Grants and Community Services office.

Official University repository

The School of Graduate Studies does not host a separate repository. All University research outputs, including postgraduate theses, are published through the central repository.

Collections

The repository is organised into the following collections. Each link opens the collection on the official repository site.

Browse by field

Search publications within a broad subject area.

For postgraduate researchers

Using the repository in your research

  • Search the repository at the proposal stage to identify prior work by University of Hargeisa researchers in your area, and to avoid duplicating an existing study.
  • Cite any repository item you use in full, following the referencing style required by your programme and the citation details shown on the item's record.
  • Respect the access and reuse conditions attached to each work. Inclusion in the repository does not transfer copyright from the author.

Making your thesis available

Once your thesis has been examined and the final, corrected version approved, please contact the School of Graduate Studies about having it included in the University repository. The School will advise on the required format and on any restrictions, such as confidential data or a planned journal publication.

Finding research

I cannot find a thesis I am looking for

Not all earlier theses have been digitised and added yet. Contact the School of Graduate Studies with the author's name, the title, the programme and the approximate year, and we will try to help you locate it.

Can I access the full text of every item?

Access depends on the arrangements for each work. Some items may be available as a record or summary only. Check the item's record on the repository, or contact the Research, Grants and Community Services office.

Who do I contact about errors in a repository record?

Contact the Research, Grants and Community Services office, which maintains the repository. Authors who are SGS graduates may also contact the School.
